Then, in August of 2009 she launched her self-titled debut album under the name Jessie James. Jessie James enjoyed a modest amount of success and Wanted was able to reach the Top 40 on the Singles Charts. But while Decker has always believed she was as a singer from the country genre, the album was released and marketed to a broader audience mind. The music of Decker came under more scrutiny after the release of two singles. The following track, Boys in the Summer was a country-inspired track. Decker launched her sophomore album with two titles: Sweet American Dreams or Daughter of a Gypsy. Mercury decided to put it back on the shelf after the first three singles fell in the country charts. Decker then was let go from the contract.
